Big Motoring World named as one of the top ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ by London Stock Exchange
Well the title says it all!! We have achieved something so great this year here at Big Motoring World!
So, you are probably wondering what does this actually mean and how did we achieve it? Well, the London Stock Exchange look at small and medium sized businesses in the UK, which are fast-growing and have displayed consistent revenue growth over a minimum of three years. They are then compared against other companies within the same industry as themselves.
As a small company based in Kent, which started back in 1985, we to this day have grown significantly into a prestige used car supermarket, selling German brands- BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Volkswagen. With our three sites in West Malling, Snodland, and now the 21-acre site at Blue Bell Hill, we stock up to 2,000 cars across the board and sell over 1,000 cars a month. Wow, they are for sure some impressive numbers wouldn’t you agree?!
Our CEO, Peter Waddell, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been recognised for the second time within the 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain, in 2016 and now 2017. The company has a fantastic team whose hard work and commitment continues to drive the business forward.”
“It is an exciting time for the company as we develop our new Dealership in Blue Bell Hill where we will have over 1,500 cars on display in one place.”
The Chief Executive, Xavier Rolet, from London Stock Exchange Group said: “Four years on, LSEG’s ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report continues to highlight the dynamic, entrepreneurial and ambitious businesses across the country that are boosting UK productivity, driving economic growth and creating jobs. The strength and diversity of these companies is readily apparent with a broad mix of UK regions and sectors represented. These companies are the very heart of an ‘anti-fragile’ economy: more robust; more flexible and less prone to boom and bust. We must ensure we continue doing all we can to support high growth potential businesses like these."
“London Stock Exchange Group is fully committed to supporting and implementing initiatives which improve access to and cut the cost of finance for growing companies. We welcome the Government’s focus on supporting SMEs as part of its Industrial Strategy and await the outcome of its review into long-term patient capital.”
Also, the Rt Hon Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy adds: “I want to congratulate the 1000 companies from across the UK featured in London Stock Exchange Group’s pioneering 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain report. Championing high growth innovative SMEs is crucial for the continued success of the UK economy and a country that works for everyone. We are committed to ensuring that companies of all sizes can access finance to grow, scale-up and create high quality well-paid jobs across the country.”
Again, we have done something remarkable and we congratulate each and every one of the staff members for pulling together to achieve this. As Captain Mr Waddell would say ‘drive the machine’!!
