Big Motoring World Wishes You A Very Merry Christmas

So 2019 draws to a close and what a year it has been for all involved at Big Motoring World. As we look back on a year that has seen significant growth for the brand, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

From new locations to award wins, 2019 has had it all for Big Motoring World and has proved to be a significant milestone in the group’s history.

Whilst 2018 saw the arrival of our state of the art Blue Bell Hill facility, 2019 saw us open two new locations and a preparation centre in moves that saw us broaden our reach outside of Kent for the first time.

First of these developments was our move into London Stratford. The opening of our new London Stratford location means that the Big Motoring World name ventured outside of Kent for the first time in the group's history as we brought our fantastic selection of cars to the nation's capital.

The opening of this new location allowed us to expand our total group stock to over 3000 vehicles. Stocking a range of brands from some of the worlds most popular car manufacturers, this was the first step in the plan in aiming to become the name for used cars in London.

Shortly after the arrival of our Stratford location, we welcomed the Big Motoring World National Preparation Centre in Peterborough. Representing an investment of £14 million, it is equipped with an array of specialist equipment to ensure that vehicles marketed and sold by Big Motoring World are prepared to the highest standards.

The Preparation Centre is equipped with a full production line, more than 70 ramps for maintenance work and pre-delivery inspections to be carried out and 15 MOT bays.

Whilst the Preparation Centre and the arrival of our London Stratford location were major milestones, we weren’t stopping there. Just this month we opened our second London dealership in Enfield.

Located near junction 25 of the M25, Big Motoring Worlds new Enfield location is perfectly placed for customers across the country. Furthermore, the Enfield, Waltham Cross location boasts 5 acres of land which will allow Big Motoring World to add an additional 650 cars from all manufacturers into group stock.

At the close of this year group stock now sits at over 3500 vehicles, the highest in our history. Whilst our teams have been busy growing the brand, we’ve also been recognised by picking up several awards and accolades throughout 2019.

In March we attended the Auto Industry Excellence Awards which saw Big Motoring World and our owner Peter Waddell recognised. Finalists in the Dealer Website Excellence category, we were delighted to receive Highly Commended status for our website. This accolade adding to our victory in this category last year and our fifth overall accolade for our website alone. In addition to this success, it was a real pleasure to see our owner and CEO, Peter Waddell, collect the award for Dealer Principal Excellence.

Moving on to October, Big Motoring World ranked at number 126 within the highly prestigious, 15th annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250, however, this wasn’t to be our last success of the year...

Rounding off the year was the Used Car Awards which saw us win two awards and receive Highly Commended status in another. Our first win of the night came thanks to the Days To Sell Award and then shortly after it would be our CEO Peter Waddell triumphing again in the Dealer Principal of the Year category. In what was an already successful night we would go on to wrap up the evening by receiving Highly Commended status in the Used Car Supermarket of the Year category.

2019 has been a bumper year, a year that sets the blueprint for further Big Motoring World growth and success into the future. With that in mind, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers. Thank you for helping to make 2019 one of our biggest yet! We very much look forward to welcoming you all in 2020. In the meantime, relax and have a very Merry Christmas. Here’s to a prosperous 2020.
