Get to Know: 2016 BMW 7 Series
I was lucky enough to go and have a look at them before they went into our preparation centre. I have always preferred the sleeker looking 6 series over the chunky and bold 7, but the new 7 has changed my mind.
BMW say 'Every time you step inside the new BMW 7 Series, you embark on a journey of luxury and innovation.' Honestly, I don't like to agree with cheesy manufactures quotes telling the world how great their car is and how the clouds part and angels sing every time you turn it on, but this one, it’s spot on.
The 7 series looks great from every angle, inside and out, if you have the money to purchase one from new you can choose from a range of BMW individual paints and interiors to style the car to your exact specifications. My personal favourite colour is called Almandine Brown Metallic it has been developed exclusively for the BMW 7 series and you can see why, it really does wear it well
A thing of pure luxury, the 7 series is loaded with goodies as standard. Heated massage seats, 10.3-inch touch screen satellite navigation screen, parking camera, the list goes on and on.
Then, there’s this rather bazar little gadget.
BMW Display Key
BMW’s display key completely changes the way you see a car key, you can use the display to check your fuel, set the cabin temperature, check the doors and windows are locked and if the lights are on, you can also use the key as some kind of futuristic remote control to park your car. I’m not sure how well this works in everyday life, but it sounds awesome, and looks pretty cool too. Unfortunately, you will have to dig out a USB cable to charge it occasionally, but for me, the pros outweigh the cons. For those of you who prefer to stick with what you know, the 7 series also comes with two standard remote keys.
A new BMW 7 Series is likely to cost around the £70k mark, with prices for our used 2016 BMW 7 series starting at £40,000 you really are getting yourself a huge amount of car for very little money. Like me, you may have never even thought about owning a BMW 7 series, but you will find yourself pleasantly surprised with what the new one has to offer.
