All new Mazda models to be electrified by 2030

Mazda has revealed plans to electrify its entire line-up by 2030.
All new Mazda models to be electrified by 2030
Though the Japanese manufacturer has been slower off the mark in terms of electrification compared with rivals, it is currently in the process of expanding its EV and hybrid presence.
Now, it has said that by 2030 all of its vehicles will be electrified in some form, while it expects a quarter of its models to be fully electric by that date too.
In order to meet this pledge, Mazda looks set to introduce a range of platforms including a ‘Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture’ which - between 2022 and 2025 - will allow the brand to launch five hybrid, five plug-in hybrid and three fully-electric models. Mazda will also collaborate with Toyota to help with the hybrid systems.
In addition, Mazda is currently in the process of creating a scalable EV platform for electric-only models of various sizes to be launched between 2025 and 2030. The firm also plans to become carbon-neutral by 2030.
Despite the commitment to electrification, Mazda has also said that it will continue to develop its internal combustion engines and even plans to release new straight-six units.
