He aimed to produce a vehicle that would be fuel efficient, environmentally friendly, and easy to park – achieved in 1997 when the car was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Since then, Mercedes-Benz has taken ownership of smart and has remained popular ever since it was established in the UK in 2008.
Why Smart?
One of Smart’s key selling points is the fantastic fuel efficiency and low emissions available across the range. On average, smart cars can achieve around 40 mpg, due mainly to their lightweight design. Weighing over 300kg less than a typical American-made vehicle, they really are at the forefront of technology built with cutting edge parts. Due to how lightweight they are, their engines can be small and consume considerably less fuel than many other car models. smart cars produce low emissions, generating CO2 of around 95g/km, making the vehicle tax exempt or very low.

Their small designs are perfect for navigating down narrow roads and fitting into parking spaces that may not be feasible in other vehicles. The smart has both a two and four-seater option available, offering a choice to those who may or may not require back seats.Smart cars are fitted with all of the latest driver entertainment systems which include things such as Bluetooth, radio tuner, aux connection, audio streaming, and much more – the convenient essentials needed to make the driving experience that bit more enjoyable. We would recommend Smart cars to those who live in busy cities, looking to keep car expenses to the bare minimum.
