Prices and specs announced for upcoming BMW iX3
BMW has released further information about its upcoming electric iX3.
Priced from £61,900, the iX3 will be the firm’s first solely electric X model when it goes on sale in the UK next summer.
Initially available in high-spec Premier Edition trim, the iX3 will feature a wide variety of standard equipment including 20-inch wheels, adaptive suspension and a panoramic sunroof. Buyers will also be able to choose from one of four exterior colours, as well as two types of exterior trim.
Inside, there’s the option of four different leather colours, while you also get electrically adjustable seats and ambient lighting fitted as standard too. Wireless phone charging, heated front seats and a suite of assistance systems have also been announced as entries into the iX3’s list of standard equipment.
An additional Premier Edition Pro specification will also be available from launch. Priced from £64,900, this adds a head-up display, upgraded sound system and automatic high beam assist as well as other upgrades. The main infotainment system is accessed via a 10.25-inch central display, which is joined by a 12.3-inch cluster behind the steering wheel. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included as standard too.
The iX3 produces 282bhp from a rear-mounted electric motor and battery setup, bringing a range of 279 miles between charges. Taking 6.5 seconds to go from 0-60mph, the iX3 will hit a top speed of 112mph while thanks to 150kW DC rapid charging capability, a 0-80 per cent charge can be achieved in as little as 34 minutes.
A 510-litre boot means that practicality has been kept as a key consideration, and this can be extended up to 1,560 litres by folding the rear seats flat too.
